After playing for 16 years\, they’ve found music to be a source of joy and healing\, drawing inspiration from artists like Jack Johnson\, Rebecca Sugar\, and their younger selves. Their music reflects their experiences as a queer Filipinx settler\, navigating various roles and relationships within their community on the traditional lands of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ)\, Kwikwetlem (kʷikʷəƛ̓əm)\, Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw)\, and Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations. Tomaio aspires for their music to serve as a comforting and grounding presence\, inviting listeners to connect deeply with their own emotions and stories. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Dimes are a group like no other. Their specialty is in all things throw-back\, covering the best music from the best decades. Performing songs from the 1950s\, 60s\, 70s\, 80s\, 90s and 2000s\, they truly have something for everyone. Their show is made extra special with the inclusion of beautiful costumes as well as dance choreography for each number. Sing along and dance along to favourites from ABBA\, The Supremes\, Cher\, Madonna\, Spice Girls\, Britney Spears\, Dolly Parton\, Shania Twain and many more! \n\n\n\n\n\nMina Chan is a pianist\, singer-songwriter\, pianist\, and storyteller with a imaginative fantasy prone personality that has been performing for several years in unceded Musqueam\, Squamish\, and Tsleil-Waututh Territory (“Vancouver”). Through her fairy tale inspired music\, she hopes to spark the imagination and encourage people to embrace the magic of the world around us. \n\n\n\n\n\nACCESSIBILITY INFO\n** Location: \n\n\n\nMaywood Park is a Burnaby public park. The address is: 6480 McKay Ave\, Burnaby\, BC V5H 2J6 BC. \n\n\n\nThe park features a playground and small shaded area\, we will also be providing some small tents for more shade! \n\n\n\nEnter on McKay Ave for accessible to the BBQ site. \n\n\n\n** Food  \n\n\n\nAvailable by donation ($3 – $5 suggested). We will have hot dogs\, with veggie\, and halal options as well as gluten free buns\, chips and iced tea. There will be few popup tents for shade. \n\n\n\n** Seating Options: \n\n\n\nSeating is limited (a few picnic tables and benches are available in the park)\, please bring your own chairs/picnic blankets\, or cushions. \n\n\n\n** Speakers/Performers: \n\n\n\nMicrophones and amplification will be used. \n\n\n\n** Terrain: \n\n\n\nThe terrain is mostly level but can be uneven with a mixture of grass and dirty areas There is a small children’s park which contains wood chips. A long paved path runs through the park from one end to the other. There is a large amount of trees and foliage that may make the terrain uneven \n\n\n\n** Fragrance-Reduced: \n\n\n\nBurnaby Pride acknowledges community members experiencing chemical sensitivities. \n\n\n\nFor the health and safety of volunteers\, performers\, and guests it is important that everyone come fragrance-free or reduced to this event.
