Burnaby Pride follows the recommendations of the Fraser Health Authority.  As always if you feel at all like you may be sick or are showing symptoms of any possibly contagious illness please stay home. Our pride celebration is outdoors in a park. Mask wearing is optional\, but encouraged in group settings. We also encourage our attendees to take the necessary precautions for their safety and we’ll have hand sanitizer and masks onsite available for those that need them. \n\n\n\nIf you would like to use a mask or hand sanitizer\, please visit the Pink Burnaby Pride Info Table at the event. \n\n\n\nKeeping safe: \n\n\n\nAs you know with the increase of hate and threats against our community the risk of hateful protesters and provocations has increased. The safety of our community is of extreme importance to us. We have a safety plan and a team in place to deal with any protesters.  \n\n\n\nFor your safety and the safety of your team\, avoid approaching or engaging protesters. \n\n\n\nDocument any incidents and report them to Burnaby Pride staff or security. \n\n\n\nProtect your body and your mind. Remove yourself if you are triggered or in any danger. \n\n\n\nSecurity personnel will be located around the site. Familiarize yourself with them and neighboring booths when you arrive so that you know where to find your closest support network. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBurnaby Pride holds our meetings and events on the unceded and traditional territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Hul’q’umi’num’ / Halq’eméylem / hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people. We recognize that this acknowledgement is a tiny piece in the larger context of the ongoing work that must be done to challenge the legacies of colonialism and create palpable disruptive change and true reconciliation. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBurnaby Pride\n\n\n\ninfo@burnabypride.com
